Private Dinner Menu

I was asked recently to hand letter 15 menus for a private dinner in San Francisco. Navy on white is always a great classic, clean combination.

Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Every year I personalize menus for Vanity Fair's Academy Awards viewing party. This year it was at Spago. The photo on the right shows how the table setting looks with the menu and a small booklet they put together that contains all the Oscar nominees. Part of the job is to be on site before the event in case any last minute calligraphy is needed. It's always fun to go to the venue and see how pretty it comes together!

Brushes and Sticks

In an effort to come up with some new menu ideas, I used a stick to quickly letter the first example, then a brush for the second one.

I did the calligraphy and layout for this menu for a client of Mindy Weiss . It is a variation on copperplate calligraphy.
