Modern Addressing on Chocolate

Loved addressing with white on this deep chocolate brown envelope.
There's freedom in doing calligraphy that is stylized and modern!

Just a peek at some of my addressing style options. Please take a look at the envelope sample page. You can even show me what you love and I can do my Lisa version of that style!

100 Layer Cake-let

I just received a request from a new client for calligraphy on her wedding envelopes. She found me through 100 Layer Cake-let wedding website and fell in love with the style shown. There's a new post today featuring the baby shower that Jamie threw for Chelsea, the owners of Sugar Paper . I was delighted to see my calligraphy as well as all of the beautiful photos from the shower. Jamie did an incredible job!

Winter Envelope

This December I participated in an envelope exchange through the Society for Calligraphy. The calligraphy is a variation of copperplate. It was really fun to create this snowy scene. I received a very cute snowman design envelope from Florence!

New Style

The style I"m using here is based on a popular new font, Carolyna. I've gotten lots of requests recently to do this script which is nice because I always have fun utilizing a wide variety of styles!

60's Lettering and Typecon

Wow, I can't believe how much time has gone by since my last post! I've been working on some nice jobs but the calligraphy hasn't been all that different from what I've posted in the past. Well, this style is definitely different and it's a first
for me. The invitation has a Beatles/ Yellow Submarine theme so I found the typeface that was used online (it's called Doobie), and worked out how to hand letter it. It was hard at first but then became kind of fun to do. Thankfully it wasn't a big job because these babies took some time!

A New Angle on Addressing

This request is the first of its kind in my 25 plus years of business. Chelsea from Sugar Paper asked me to address her birth announcements covering almost the entire envelope and wanted the writing on an angle. It was challenging at first, but then I got into the flow. Her baby Owen is a doll!

White Script Envelope Sample

I'm completing this job tonight for a client to pick up tomorrow. The typeface I'm mimicking is called Zaner. Generally you don't want lines crossing through other letters, but that's how the capitals are designed in this font. Envelope addressing can be tedious, but I'm really enjoying this one. The combination of the script and the white on the red is really nice!
